ABOUT RETENTION PARTNERS

We are Australia’s employee retention specialist. For 8 years we have answered the retention and attrition challenges of some icon Australian organisations. We are an HR consultancy which helps organisations discover what makes people join, stay there or decide to resign.

Our practical employee retention strategies are for HR, managers and the senior team, designed to reduce employee turnover, engage employees and enhance your employer brand.

Our clients include many leading Australian employers. Our work is based on the huge body of data we obtain from our survey work across diverse industries. We would love to work with you and design a customised solution to your retention and engagement issues.

Retention Partners was established in 2000 by Lisa Halloran. Lisa’s backgrounds in market research and HR are combined in the services and products provided by Retention Partners. Over time we have developed a bank of staff retention articles and staff retention conference papers and we use this to form our monthly practice notes available to all subscribers.

Lisa Halloran (BCom, MBA), Managing Director

Lisa has 4 years' market research experience, working with the research company that provided electoral research to one of the major political parties at state and federal levels, including during a number of federal and state election campaigns.

Subsequently, Lisa has had 14 years' experience in HR management roles in a diverse range of industry sectors. Lisa created the HR consulting arm in NSW for the ACM, the largest multi-industry employer group in Australia. Lisa was also National HR Manager with a major food and retail company. Lisa has provided HR policy and strategic planning consulting services to blue chip financial services firms, FMCG, television, pharmaceutical and education as well as the NSW public sector.Lisa created Retention Partners in 2000 to focus on exit interview outsourcing, retention surveys and manager retention skills training. Lisa has a Bachelor of Commerce degree and an MBA from AGSM.

Caroline Herrman (BA, M Jour, Cert IV TA), Business Manager

Caroline Herrman has over 12 years experience listening, researching, creating, writing, training, delivering, marketing and measuring HR and business needs for both agency and client-side organisations.

She brings this and her experience in communications to Retention Partners to help clients identify the cause of employee turnover issues and to find the right solution for each client given their environment and circumstances.

She has a partnership approach and enjoys working with clients to provide them real metrics, solutions, and well-informed retention strategies.

Sectors Caroline has worked in include Marketing Research, Telecommunications, Training, Media and the Arts, Not-For-Profit, Professional Services and HR Consulting. As business manager she is involved in all aspects of Retention Partners. She has qualifications in Learning and Development as well as a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology, Economics) and a Masters of Journalism.

Nicola Deall (BBus), Research

Nicola oversees each client’s research projects and uses her project management, technical understanding and communication skills to make sure that each project delivers important HR solutions. Through nurturing relationships, Nicola is able to understand the individual needs of every client and tailor each project to suit the unique nature of each organisation and its employees.

Nicola has previously been the Head of Operations for a company in the financial sector and has been involved in fast growing businesses with roles that included managing IT projects, property taxation consulting, technical training for the quantity surveying industry and marketing for a not-for-profit organization. She has also worked as a journalist and newsreader, covering U.S. and local financial markets and the Australian property market.

 Nicola is passionate about finding win-win solutions for organisations and their staff and Nicola brings her diverse range of skills to improve efficiencies, foster relationships with clients and make sure that each research project provides accurate and valuable outcomes, on time.

Tammie Werner, Employee Retention Researcher

Tammie Werner specialises in talking with clients’ current and former employees to identify why they stay, join and resign.

Since joining Retention Partners, Tammie has interviewed current and former employees of a range of national clients in sectors such as blue chip financial services, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and Government. Tammie conducts interview training skills sessions to enable our clients to learn from our expertise.

Tammie is completing her combined Bachelor of Commerce/Arts at UNSW and uses her marketing major to develop her skills and role with our market research projects.

Arpita Halder, Employee Retention Researcher

Arpita Halder specialises in talking with clients’ current and former employees to identify why they stay, join and resign. She regularly receives great feedback for her unique and rapport-building style.

Having completed her Bachelor of Commerce at UNSW, Arpita brings her dual specialisation in HR and in Marketing to Retention Partners, as well as her background gained in market research.


Susan Donovan (B Apps Sc, Cert IV TA), Senior Facilitator

Susan has been training and facilitating programs since 1998 with a variety of training organisations. Her extensive career combines facilitation, instructional design, competency mapping and training for many blue chip organisations and also with public courses.

Susan is a pleasure to work with. Client feedback is always of the highest level due to Susan's credibility, strong focus on activity-based learning and sustainable achievement of business objectives.
